About

Bytesoul makes games with soul. Behind it is one person, me, Daniel Bier. I do everything myself, from the rules to the store listing. Every game starts from something personal: a card game my family really plays at the kitchen table, a racer pulled by two jet engines, an island where you work your way through the history of technology with empty hands.

The games look very different from each other. What they share is care in the details, fairness towards the players and a simple rule: nothing ships until I have played it myself.

On AI, in my words:

I design, decide and playtest everything myself. AI tools help me write code and only create art when there is no other sensible way. Chores belong to AI, art belongs to humans. It's a tool to create my vision.

Bouncy Rocks

A small arcade game for phones: steer a ship through a growing field of asteroids that bounce off each other for real. No two runs are the same.

Turbo Chariot

A hover racer for PC. Two roaring jet engines pull a small cockpit on cables at several hundred km/h through desert canyons. Between races you rebuild your chariot part by part. The machine is the hero.

  • Platform: PC (Windows)
  • Language: English
  • Status: Coming soon
