Controlled chaos

Bouncy Rocks is a small arcade game for your phone. You steer a ship through a field of asteroids that gets denser and faster every minute. The asteroids have real mass, so they collide with each other and bounce off. Nothing is scripted. The chaos comes from the physics, which is why no two runs are the same.

The ship follows your finger and flies a little ahead of it, so your hand never covers it. There are no buttons and no joysticks. A hit goes to the shield first, which slowly recharges, then to the hull. Glowing capsules drift through the field and change what your ship can take. You will lose every time, just a bit later each time.

The game is free and shows a small banner ad. The scoreboard runs on Google Play Games.

From 2017 to today

Bouncy Rocks was the first game I finished. I built it alone around 2016 and 2017, as a beginner, in Unity 5. In 2026 I ported it to a current Unity version, which was a lot of work to bring it up to date for Google Play. With AI tools, porting is far easier, and that is how it got there. The feel of the old game stays.
